Like a Smartphone: Russian Chery Tiggo 9 Will Receive Over-the-Air Updates

Owners of the new crossover will be able to keep the onboard systems up to date without visiting service centers

Chery has announced that owners of the new flagship Tiggo 9 crossover in Russia will be able to update their car's software over-the-air (OTA). This will allow users to keep the onboard systems, including the voice assistant, up to date without having to visit a service center.

Updates will be available through a mobile app that provides remote access to the car's intelligent functions. This app will allow owners to monitor the car's condition in real time and remotely control functions such as starting the engine and adjusting the temperature in the cabin.

To update, simply press a button, and the process will be performed automatically when connected to the Internet. According to Chery representatives, this system not only improves comfort when using the car, but also makes it more integrated into the digital ecosystem, where the car and smartphone work as one.

In addition, the Chery Tiggo 9 will be equipped with telematics from Chery and online services, including navigation based on Yandex Maps and various VK services such as VK Music, VK Video, VK News and VK Messenger. Pre-orders for the crossover were opened on November 14, and all trim levels of the car will include these technological innovations.
