Отечественная Lada стала самой популярной маркой у автоугонщиков

According to preliminary data from insurers, the number of car thefts in Russia has decreased by 22%. Most car thefts were recorded in Moscow and the North Caucasus. And the most popular brand among car thieves has become the domestic Lada.

The VSK Insurance House conducted a study that showed that in 66% of cases, Lada cars were stolen. Of these, 37% are Lada Vesta, and 28% are Lada Granta.

Following them, with a noticeable gap in the number of thefts, are Lexus (8.5%), Hyundai and Kia (6% each), as well as BMW, Mitsubishi, Toyota and Volkswagen (2.8% each). In 2024, corporate car parks became the main targets of car thefts — 77% of cases.

About 40% of all car theft cases were registered in the capital. Dagestan is in second place with 26%, and Kabardino-Balkaria is in third place with 17%.

In 2024, the largest number of crimes was registered in February, March and July — 29% of the total number of thefts each. The smallest number of such cases was recorded in January, May and August — less than 3% in each month.

Earlier, Nikolai Ivanov, head of the new car department at Rolf, stated that the weakening of the ruble, especially against the backdrop of the rising dollar, could cause a "rapid reaction" in the form of changes in the cost of cars. This is especially true for cars that are imported into Russia through parallel imports, where exchange rate fluctuations can immediately affect prices.
