Two-seat multifunctional Su-30SM2 fighters of the Russian Black Sea Fleet naval aviation received R-37M long-range air-to-air missiles with 9B-1103M-350 active radar homing heads in their weapon control system and ammunition.
When launched at flight levels of about 12,000-13,500 m, the effective interception range of high-altitude, low-maneuverability targets can reach 270-280 km, and medium-altitude and low-altitude maneuvering targets — 220-230 km.
When launched at medium-altitude and low-altitude levels of 300-3000 m, the effective range against high-altitude targets is reduced to 250-230 km, and against low-altitude targets — to 200-180 km.
Active radar homing algorithms provide the ARGSN with the ability to intercept targets at speeds up to 5-6M, while the missile's own speed reaches 6300 km/h.
Given the Su-30SM2's equipment with N035 Irbis-E onboard phased array radars, the pilot and systems operator can simultaneously acquire and precisely track 8 targets and begin intercepting them with 8 R-37M missiles, not inferior to the Su-35S.
Earlier, www1.ru reported that the Su-34NVO fighter revealed no more than 25% of its unique potential.
