The traffic police have begun issuing new car numbers to car owners, which begin with the digit two. Images of cars with the region code "250" have appeared on specialized resources. They can be obtained in the Moscow region.
The upcoming introduction of the region code "250" was announced by the Ministry of Internal Affairs in February of this year. The authorities cited an increase in the number of cars in the Moscow region as the reason for this. More than 3.5 million vehicles are registered there. The annual increase is about 600 thousand cars.
Recall that the first region in which the first digit on the car number began with "2" was the Nizhny Novgorod region. Numbers "252" appeared there in 2023. Prior to this, three-digit numbers everywhere in the regions began with the digit "1", except for Moscow. Since 2013, numbers "777" have been flaunted on cars in the capital, and "977" appeared in 2022. In the Krasnodar Territory, numbers "323" are being prepared for issuance.
