Russian military personnel reliably control the skies, including thanks to the S-500 anti-aircraft missile system. It is designed to repel massive strikes by SCALP-EG, MGM-140B ATACMS Block IA, and MGM-164 ATACMS 2000 tactical missiles, as well as R-360 Neptune cruise missiles.
The main elements of the radar architecture and fire control system of the S-500 complex are the 77T6 illumination and targeting radar, which has 10 target channels and is represented by an X-band active phased array radar with a target detection range with an RCS of 0.1 sq. m of about 250-300 km.
The elevation angles of the beams in the elevation plane have been expanded to 78+ degrees, which ensures the tracking of ballistic targets diving from the mesosphere and stratosphere at angles of 75-90 degrees.
The systems are equipped with advanced hypersonic 77N6 interceptor missiles with a range of 500-600 km and an effective target engagement altitude of up to 45-50 km. These two-stage missiles are a new modification of the 9M82MD missile from the S-300V4 SAM system with heavier and high-impulse solid propellant rocket motors for the 1st stages.
Earlier, www1.ru reported that the Russian Iskander for the first time destroyed the Grom OTRK on the front, footage of a precise hit appeared.
