The Russian fifth-generation Su-57 fighter surpasses the American F-22 and F-35 in stealth, or "invisibility," systems. This was stated by Honored Military Pilot of the Russian Federation, Major General Vladimir Popov.
According to him, the F-22 and F-35 stealth systems have drawbacks. Popov noted that this aspect is a weak point of both machines. The pilot explained that the aircraft are stored in the USA in hangars to avoid the effects of solar radiation on the coating.
At the same time, in Russia, when creating the Su-57, they not only gave the machine certain shapes to reduce the radar cross-section, but also equipped the fighter with electronic warfare systems. The Americans noted this difference.
The special paint is exposed to infrared rays, solar radiation, and deteriorates very quickly. New layers need to be applied approximately every six months. This is an expensive pleasure, so the F-22 and F-35 are stored in hangars. In winter, problems arise due to icing and precipitation, which destroys the surface of the aircraft and reduces their stealth.
For the first time among serial Russian fighters, the Su-57's armament can be placed in an internal compartment — air-to-surface and air-to-air missiles, guided and conventional bombs.
Earlier, www1.ru reported that a Russian FPV drone destroyed a rare American L3 Harris Vampire SAM system for the first time.
