«VBK Vostok» (part of the «Vostok – brake systems» group) has launched import-substituting serial production of pneumatic disc brake mechanisms for GAZ and KAMAZ trucks and trailer equipment in Naberezhnye Chelny. This production, based at the Kama Industrial Park «Master», is the only one in Russia that produces brakes of this type, and the Industrial Development Fund helped to launch it.
Investments in the acquisition of modern production equipment for devices under the TCP brand amounted to 127 million rubles, of which 100 million rubles were provided by the federal Industrial Development Fund in the form of a concessional loan under the «Auto components» program. It is known that the company will additionally invest 50 million rubles in the component localization program.
The company has become the first and only manufacturer in Russia of 17 and 19-inch diameter disc brake mechanisms suitable for GAZ and KAMAZ trucks, and 22-inch mechanisms suitable for trailer equipment from most Russian manufacturers. The output after reaching the design capacity will be up to 95 thousand units per year, which will allow the company to occupy up to 34% of the Russian market for disc brake systems for грузового and special vehicles.
A pneumatic disc brake mechanism, compared to a drum brake, has a lower mass, is more compact, and provides a more stable braking torque under various braking conditions. Also, the single-piston design of the TCP brake provides fewer components and greater reliability compared to other designs.
