МВД предлагает разрешить водителям регистрировать машины без ОСАГО

Russia will abolish the mandatory presentation of OSAGO upon car registration

Car owners in Russia will be able to register their cars without the need to provide an OSAGO insurance policy. The corresponding draft order of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of the Russian Federation was published on the portal of draft regulatory legal acts.

According to the information presented on the website of the Ministry of Internal Affairs, the requirements for providing a policy of compulsory insurance of civil liability of vehicle owners during registration actions are excluded from the administrative regulations.

Changes have been made to the administrative regulations, which provide for the inspection of cars when issuing vehicle passports. This applies to cars that are not registered with the state, or vehicles registered before 1993. The procedure for deregistering cars that have been destroyed or have become unsuitable for operation has also been clarified.

The basis for the development of the draft order was the adoption of the Federal Law and the Decree of the Government of the Russian Federation, which required adjustments to the current regulatory legal acts of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Russia in accordance with applicable law. Currently, the draft order is undergoing an independent anti-corruption examination on the federal portal of draft regulatory acts, the department noted.
