In Egypt, work has begun on the installation of the core catcher at Unit 4 of the El Dabaa NPP. This was reported by the press service of the state corporation Rosatom.
The "core catcher" is a piece of equipment with a long manufacturing cycle. It consists of several elements, the total weight of which exceeds 700 tons.
"The 'core catcher' is one of the key safety components of Generation 3+ power units."
Likhachev emphasized that Rosatom is constructing all four power units in compliance with all international requirements.
