Kamchatka has begun developing a project for a new power plant. The expected capacity of the facility is 100 gigawatts, according to the Governor of Kamchatka, Vladimir Solodov.
The new tidal power plant is planned to be used as a source of tidal head.
It is necessary to resolve the issue of electricity logistics, because we will not create consumers in the deserted part of the north of the Kamchatka Territory and the Magadan Region for that calculated capacity, which exceeds 100 gigawatts. The task is to ensure its logistics, either through green hydrogen or in another way, using modern technological achievements.
The head of the region also noted that Kamchatka is a leader in the country in renewable energy sources. Geothermal energy is also being developed in this region.
Earlier, www1.ru reported that the largest solar power plant in Russia will be built in Dagestan.
