An innovative barrier in the form of yellow polyurethane foam barrels, buffer frames, and rigid supports has appeared in Russia. The barrier is designed for a significant impact force, equivalent to the impact of a bus weighing 15 tons at a speed of 74 km/h. Upon impact, the barrels rotate, redirecting vehicles and dissipating the energy of the collision.

The barrier has a reflective film and is clearly visible in the dark. The department expects that it will help reduce the number of accidents at turns and exits from highways.

The Ministry of Transport of the Russian Federation did not rule out the installation of similar structures on all high-speed highways in the country.
