Project 90600

Project 90600 tugs are being built at the Leningrad Shipyard "Pella". These are steel single-deck vessels with a midships location of the wheelhouse and an aft location of the engine room. They have ice reinforcements of the hull and propeller-rudder group, therefore they can even navigate in rarefied ice with a thickness of level ice up to 0.8 m.

Tugs of this project are designed for:

  • performing towing and berthing operations in the port, at roadsteads and in coastal areas;
  • refloating ships and vessels;
  • fire fighting and oil spill response.

Also, according to the Ministry of Defense, vessels of Project 90600 can perform "other functions".

Characteristics of the vessel of project 90600:

  • length overall, m — 25.4;
  • width overall, m — 8.8;
  • draft, m — 3.9;
  • bollard pull, t — at least 23;
  • propulsion complex — 2 CRP with ducted propellers;
  • main engine, kW — 2 x 735;
  • speed, knots — about 11.5;

Currently, more than twenty such tugs have already left the Pella shipyards. Some of them are on the balance sheet of the Baltic Fleet, some are with JSC "Sevmash-Shelf" and other customers.
