Russian military forces have BMP-3s with installed roller mine тралами at their disposal. They are capable of solving the issue of тралов and mine clearing equipment shortage on the front line.
The authors of the Telegram channel «Военный осведомитель» reminded that if light armored vehicles independently participate in assault operations, they need engineering equipment to overcome enemy minefields.
As practice has repeatedly shown, assault columns are not always provided with the appropriate engineering equipment, or even a tank with a тралом is not always at the front. And in the event of its loss, the remaining vehicles, which do not have the means to overcome mines, find themselves trapped in a minefield and are forced to either disperse and be blown up, or stand still and wait for drones with artillery.
Also in service is the BMR-3M «Вепрь», whose main task is reconnaissance, overcoming and clearing minefields. The passages created during demining are approximately equal in width to the wheelbase or track distance of BMPs, APCs or tanks.
The vehicle is capable of making two tracks with a width of 800–870 mm in anti-track minefields, but an uncleared space of 1620 mm remains between the tracks.
Earlier www1.ru reported that the Russian military tested a new drone with a flamethrower. According to the idea, «Горыныч» flies up to the enemy's drone from above and inflicts a crushing fiery blow, after which it loses control.
