Незаменимые люди есть: дочь Калашникова рассказала, как ей предложили сделать цифровую копию отца

Today marks the 105th anniversary of Kalashnikov's birth

Today, November 10, 2024, marks the 105th anniversary of the birth of the legendary weapons designer Mikhail Kalashnikov. His daughter, Elena Mikhailovna, told the newspaper "Moskovsky Komsomolets" that representatives of the "Movement of the First" recently approached her with a proposal to create a video in which artificial intelligence promised to recreate the image of her father. The video was supposed to use the face and voice of Mikhail Kalashnikov. It was assumed that the digital double would pronounce text that had been prepared by someone else.

Despite the fact that modern technologies make it possible to "resurrect" a person, Elena Mikhailovna pointed out that it is unacceptable to force a digital double to pronounce what Mikhail Kalashnikov did not say in real life. In her opinion, the proposed text was illiterate and most likely composed by artificial intelligence. She emphasized that her father would never have agreed to this.

In addition, Kalashnikova noted that her father never used advertising phrases about himself and his inventions. All his words can be found in books, records and documentaries.

Mikhail Kalashnikov, born on November 10, 1919 in the village of Kurya, Altai Territory, was one of the greatest weapons designers of the 20th century. The assault rifle named after him is distinguished by its simplicity and reliability, it continues to be used in more than 100 countries around the world, and every fifth soldier is armed with this weapon.

Kalashnikov passed away on December 23, 2013, leaving an indelible mark on the world history of weapons production. The engineer was 95 years old.
