В Москве планируют имплантировать ИИ в мозг примата

Similar experiment successfully conducted on a rat

Specialists from Moscow State University (MSU) are planning to connect a primate's brain to artificial intelligence (AI) using a neurointerface. This was announced by MSU Professor Mikhail Lebedev.

It would be best and most interesting to implant AI into a monkey because it is very similar to humans, and its brain is structured similarly. Accordingly, it can not only press the "yes" and "no" buttons but, for example, move the mouse across the screen.
Mikhail Lebedev, Professor at MSU

It is worth noting that scientists have previously successfully conducted a similar experiment with a rat. They implanted AI into its brain. As a result, the animal became capable of answering complex questions.

Conducting the same experiment with primates will be more difficult than with rats.

This is more difficult in terms of ethics, surgery, and maintenance. But to investigate this, you need a lot of animals, in this case, monkeys, to gather statistics and see the reaction to the implant.
Vasily Popkov, Head of the Laboratory for the Development of Invasive Neurointerfaces at the Institute of Artificial Intelligence of MSU

The experiment will be conducted as part of the "AIIntuition" project.
