A method for identifying the risks of developing oral mucosal cancer has been created at the Altai State Medical University. This was announced by Svetlana Tokmakova, Head of the Department of Therapeutic Dentistry at the Altai State Medical University.
The development is an automated and personalized test. It will allow diagnosing the disease at an early stage.
The basis is 45 risk factors that can affect the development of cancer. The degree of influence of each factor was established in a comparative study of 300 healthy residents of the Altai Territory and 300 cancer patients.
The test was posted on the website. To pass it, the user needs to create a personal account.
The development includes a table with risk factors (gender, age, height, body mass index, nature of work, alcohol consumption, and others), as well as factors specific to the oral cavity (the presence of chronic diseases, mucosal injuries, the presence of pathological formations). With the test results, the user can contact a medical institution.
The test has already been sent to dental clinics in the Altai Territory.
Earlier www1.ru reported that in Russia created a biocomposite to fight melanoma.
