В Госдуме хотят в 40 раз увеличить штрафы для шумных водителей

The bill has been sent to the Russian government

In Russia, it was proposed to increase the fines for drivers who violate the permissible noise level by 40 times. The initiative was developed by a group of deputies from the LDPR faction, led by Leonid Slutsky, and the bill has already been sent to the Russian Government for review, TASS reports.

According to the project, the fine for citizens for driving vehicles with excessive noise and emissions will be 20 thousand rubles, while now this amount is 500 rubles. For officials who allow the operation of such vehicles, the fine will be from 20 to 30 thousand rubles, which is significantly more than the current 500–1000 rubles. The explanatory note states that such a serious increase in fines is due to the need for an adequate response to the problem and the creation of comfortable conditions for citizens.

The authors of the initiative emphasize that Muscovites regularly complain about excessive noise from cars, and the introduction of high fines will help improve living conditions in cities.
