The A-100 "Premier" airborne early warning and control (AWACS) aircraft helps with additional military detection of camouflaged radiation sources, according to expert Evgeny Damantsev.
He noted that the aircraft will be equipped with a radar system based on an active phased array radar (APAR) for all-round visibility. The detection range of a target with an RCS of 0.01 m² should reach 90–120 km, and the throughput capacity should be 500–1000 objects.
The new generation aviation complex was developed on the basis of the Il-76MD-90A aircraft, which is equipped with a fairing with special radio equipment and the latest antenna system developed by the Vega concern (part of Roselectronica). The A-100 can detect and track surface and other targets, as well as participate in the control of strike and fighter aircraft when targeting ground, surface, and sea targets.
Rostec noted that the creation of radio equipment for the A-100 used technical solutions based on high-performance computing tools, modern electronic component base and achievements of domestic radio electronics.
This applies to both the computing complex for its processing, and the means of obtaining information, as well as automated workstations for operators.
Earlier it became known that Uralvagonzavod put into production the production of "barbecue grills" for armored vehicles.
