The leading Russian defense industry enterprise, Uralvagonzavod, has sent another batch of TOS-1A "Solntsepyok" heavy flamethrower systems to the Russian Armed Forces. This was reported by the press service of the state corporation Rostec, which includes the plant.
The plant's designers have modernized the TOS, taking into account the wishes of the Russian soldiers. Before being sent to the military, the equipment underwent running tests. During the tests, specialists checked the quality of assembly, the operation of mechanisms and devices.
Last year, UVZ increased the production of "Solntsepyoks" by expanding production facilities, switching to round-the-clock operation in a two-shift schedule, and increasing the number of personnel.
As noted in the press service, "Solntsepyok" is one of the most formidable types of Russian weapons. There are no analogues in the world. TOS-1A perform combat missions in close combat and are used to support infantry and tanks.
