Гигафабрики «Росатома» в 2026 году наладят выпуск батарей на 100 тысяч электромобилей в год

Gigafactories will operate in the Kaliningrad Region and Moscow

Rosatom plans to launch the production of traction batteries for 100,000 electric vehicles by the end of 2026. Gigafactories will be built in the Kaliningrad Region and Moscow in the coming years.

Next year, the first gigafactory in the Russian Federation will begin operations, capable of producing battery packs for 50,000 electric vehicles. One of the factories will be launched in the Kaliningrad Region in 2025, and the second in Moscow in 2026, which will allow reaching a total capacity of 100,000 batteries per year.

Rosatom State Corporation also plans to launch electric drives for electric vehicles in 2026. The company is interested in developing electric mobility in Russia, including the transition to electric transport for regional carriers, taxis, car sharing, as well as public and cargo electric transport. The network of electric charging stations will be expanded, and Rosatom intends to develop this market not only in the central part of the country, but also in Siberia and the Urals.

In Kaliningrad, on Oktyabrsky Island and at Khrabrovo Airport, the first two hubs of Rosatom's electric charging stations, combining 15 stations with a total capacity of more than 2 MW, began operating on November 3. The first Russian gigafactory for the production of lithium-ion batteries is being built in the Neman district of the Kaliningrad region and will create about 1.5 thousand jobs at the plant and in related industries.
