A water leak has been detected at a reactor of the Zaporizhzhia Nuclear Power Plant. Repair work to fix the problem is already underway, according to the International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA).
The agency will continue to monitor this issue closely, although we see no immediate threat to nuclear safety. Overall, we have determined that ZNPP has difficulty regularly maintaining the equipment needed to ensure sustainable nuclear and physical safety during the conflict.
IAEA representatives visited power unit No. 1 of the ZNPP after receiving information about a water leak in the reactor coolant pump support system. To normalize the station's operation, the pressure in the primary circuit was reduced to atmospheric level. Radiographic testing of welded joints is currently underway.
Earlier, www1.ru reported that IAEA chief Grossi visited the Kursk NPP.
