The Russian military received more than 2 thousand Scorpion continuous cartridge belt feed systems. The developing company is Front — Tactical Systems.
The system can hold up to 750 rounds, and has proven itself well in real combat conditions. All the shortcomings that the military pointed out at first have been completely eliminated.
Full development of the Scorpion will require high physical fitness of the shooter and time. The machine gunner needs to get used to working with a flexible hose and backpack in order to use the system in combat conditions. If the training is successful, the machine gunner will be able to effectively use the Scorpion from various positions.
This system is designed to reduce the frequency of machine gun reloads, which allows a soldier to create a dense curtain of fire in front of the enemy and maintain a high rate of fire.
The Scorpion also slightly lightens the weight of the ammunition carried. Thus, the weight of the system without cartridges is 7.6 kg, and the weight of the entire kit with 550 cartridges is 21.8 kg.
Earlier www1.ru reported that the Russian army reduced losses of Supercam reconnaissance drones to almost zero. UAV operators know in advance where the enemy's air defense and electronic warfare points are located.
