A dealership for the Minsk Tractor Plant (MTZ) has begun construction in Elista. The project, worth over 50 million rubles, is expected to be completed by the spring of 2025, according to Timur Gavaev, acting head of the Ministry of Agriculture of Kalmykia.
According to him, it will be an office for the sale of "Belarus" tractors and spare parts for them. The equipment will also undergo maintenance here.
Sales from the dealership are expected to reach 100 tractors per year. Russian farmers will be able to purchase equipment under a leasing program.
It is known that the project was launched after a meeting between the President of Belarus, Alexander Lukashenko, and the head of Kalmykia, Batu Khasikov. The regional authorities confirmed the need to update the agricultural machinery fleet. The Belarusian side offered its assistance.
Currently, almost 3,000 "Belarus" tractors are in operation in Kalmykia. Most of the equipment requires replacement.
