The promising heavy Russian UAV S-70 "Okhotnik" will eventually replace the Su-34. This opinion was expressed by the authors of the "Reporter" portal.
They noted that the first episodes of the drone's appearance in the sky on the front line indicate the finalization of field tests.
The "Okhotnik" is a bomber-missile carrier that remains stealthy, as it keeps its entire ammunition inside compartments. Moreover, the UAV can work in conjunction with Su-57 and Su-35 fighters. Also, one fighter is able to control a whole group of such drones, up to four units.
Such drones will eventually be able to replace the Su-34s in service with the Russian Aerospace Forces. The S-70 "Okhotnik" is being developed to operate under the control of AI, not a human operator, but the final decision to launch missiles or drop bombs is made by the fighter pilot.
