Bulgarian Military: Iran licensed to produce Russian Su-30 and Su-35 fighters

Up to 72 Su-35 fighters planned for production for the Iranian Air Force

Iranian authorities are planning to start their own production of Russian Su-30 and Su-35 fighters, having already obtained the relevant license. This was reported by Bulgarian Military, citing Turkish sources.

The Iranian Air Force wants to produce between 48 and 72 Su-35 fighters. The number of Su-30s is not yet known. Assembling fighters will not only provide the country with combat aircraft, but also develop its own aviation industry.

According to Bulgarian Military, producing the aircraft would reduce Iran's dependence on external supplies of military equipment, which is crucial given international sanctions. However, the source did not clarify whether Iran has the right to export finished fighters to third countries under the license. There has been no official confirmation of this information yet.
