Образец авиадвигателя ПД-35 прошел первый этап испытаний

The 35-ton thrust aircraft engine demonstrated stable results in the first stage

The development and testing of the PD-35 aircraft engine prototype, a technology demonstrator, have entered a new stage. According to a statement from one of the participating development enterprises, the engine has successfully completed the first stage of testing, demonstrating stable operation in accordance with the established parameters. It is emphasized that this is an important step in preparation for further testing.

The PD-35 project was launched in 2016 at the Perm-based "Aviadvigatel" and the Rybinsk-based "Saturn", which are part of the United Engine Corporation (UEC). The PD-35, featuring increased thrust of up to 35 tons (16 tons more than the PD-14), will become the most powerful Russian aircraft engine. It is expected that the engine will be used on advanced wide-body aircraft, such as the modernized Il-96 and the An-124-100 "Ruslan" transport aircraft. It is assumed that mass production of the engine may begin by 2030.
