The park of combat vehicles of the Russian Armed Forces will soon be replenished with the BMP K-17 on the "Boomerang" platform. In the basic version, the vehicle is equipped with the "Epoch" combat module with a 30-millimeter automatic cannon with a paired 7.62-millimeter machine gun and Kornet anti-tank missiles.
The troop compartment accommodates eight fully equipped motorized riflemen. The seats installed here are equipped with multi-point seat belts and a special anti-traumatic design.
Thanks to two monitors and video cameras, military personnel can receive complete information about what is happening behind the armor. Convenient boarding and disembarking from the vehicle are provided by the ramp located in the stern, in which an additional door is cut. There are also two hatches in the roof of the troop compartment.
A powerful 750 hp diesel engine and an automatic transmission are now located in the front of the hull, and the combat compartment with a 30-mm cannon, machine gun and Kornet ATGM is completely separated from the habitable zone. The maximum combat weight is 28,600 kg, the maximum speed on the highway is 100 km/h. The fuel range is 800 km.
Earlier www1.ru reported that a universal small-sized torpedo was developed in Russia. The range is up to 7 km.
