Nikolai Fofanov, the Aura project manager, and Dmitry Shalaev, the lead engineer, discussed whether parts from the Lada Vesta can be used to repair the Lada Aura. It turns out that some components of the cars are indeed interchangeable, but at the same time, the Lada Aura has many original parts that the Lada Vesta does not have. There are 244 of them in total, 64 of which are body parts.
We worked with our shock absorber partner. We used larger wheels, and this required increasing the shock absorber body by about 8 mm so that there was enough stroke to handle all the bumps.
New valves responsible for damping and compression were installed, and the holes for adjusting the working fluid flow were changed. This ensured the necessary system performance. As a result, the car became more comfortable when driving on our roads, and shaking at medium speed was significantly reduced. Is it possible to replace components? In this case, no.
A company representative added that there are no differences between the Lada Aura and the Lada Vesta in terms of the process of coating body parts with zinc.
The Aura will be available only in two versions for now — Premier and Status. The cost of these versions is 2.6 and 2.8 million rubles, respectively. The average Russian will need two and a half years to save up for such a car, www1.ru reported earlier. And that's if he puts aside his entire salary.
