Russian military forces have deployed the 9K37 Buk-M1 anti-aircraft missile system directly within 10 km of the line of contact. Military expert Evgeny Damantsev explained the complexity of the work of soldiers in such conditions.
He drew attention to the fact that the combat vehicles are equipped with improvised anti-cumulative hull screens.
These facts lead us to the conclusion that the vehicle is deployed only 9 - 10 km from the line of contact. Therefore, the work of the crews is associated with a huge risk of being attacked by both FPV drones and barrel artillery.
According to him, the main targets of the Buk-M1 are still the 220-mm unguided missiles 9M27F/K of the Uragan systems and the 227-mm guided missiles M30/31A1 GMLRS of the HIMARS systems.
The acquisition range of these projectiles for accurate auto-tracking varies from 12 to 10 km, and the interception range is 5-9 km.
