An innovative unmanned aerial vehicle, unparalleled in the country, has been developed at PJSC MMC Norilsk Nickel. This was reported by the company's press service.
The new drone is designed for environmental monitoring, air and water quality control, as well as for use in various industrial and environmental tasks. The device can operate in harsh Arctic conditions.
It took about a year to create the copter. The device is equipped with a video recording camera, a winch for collecting water samples, a thermal imager, a barometer, and a gas analyzer with a probe.
The eco-drone can fly for up to 45 minutes, both in automatic mode and under operator control. For autopilot, the operator uploads a map and selects the desired objects; the route is calculated automatically.
One operator is sufficient to control the drone in manual mode.
Earlier, www1.ru reported that the Krasnoyarsk Territory will receive drones to enhance control over environmental violations.
