This was announced by Ekaterina Ulanova, Head of Digitalization and GovTech at Wildberries, at the "Aurora. Own Conference" in Moscow.
According to her, the final transition will take place "if not in October, then in November 100%". And, thus, the marketplace will contribute to the growth in the number of users of the "Aurora" OS: there are already a million of them and there will be more.
This is not a call of duty, this is by no means any coercion from any authorities for us to switch [to domestic software]. Why are we on "Aurora"? We all know very well that the country needs national sovereign mobile operating systems. Our users mainly use applications. And we really want applications in our country not only to appear, but also to really work. We believe that a million users is not an indicator at all, for us it is absolutely certain, and we are sure that you will have many more users - this is what we should all strive for. We are always ready to help with this, we are ready to involve our internal team, guys who work for some of the most understandable foreign platform manufacturers. How to attract them? In fact, developers are attracted by themselves, and are always interested [in what is happening in the field]: if there is a cool, interesting product, then they will come and ask to participate in this project.
According to data announced by the management of "Open Mobile Platform", which developed the "Aurora" OS at the forum, "Aurora" is already used by more than 400 large Russian companies as a platform for corporate mobility.
