The crew of the international mission Crew-8, which has been on orbit since March 2024, is preparing to return to Earth from the ISS. In addition to Russian cosmonaut Alexander Grebenkin, it includes NASA astronauts Matthew Dominick, Michael Barratt, and Jeanette Epps.

The Crew Dragon spacecraft with Roscosmos cosmonaut Alexander Grebenkin will return to Earth on October 8. Undocking of the spacecraft from the Harmony node module of the American segment of the ISS is scheduled for October 7 at 10:05 Moscow time, splashdown – on October 8 at 16:35 Moscow time.

Earlier in late September, under the agreement on cross-flights between Roscosmos and NASA, Soyuz MS-25 with NASA astronaut Tracy Dyson and Russian cosmonauts Oleg Kononenko, Nikolai Chub landed in Kazakhstan, near the city of Zhezkazgan. Later that month, cosmonaut Alexander Gorbunov departed to the ISS from Cape Canaveral in Florida on the Crew Dragon spacecraft, along with astronaut Nick Hague.
