Vasily Shpak, Deputy Minister of Industry and Trade of Russia, spoke about the new development of Russian specialists from the "Lassard" Group of Companies in an interview with "CNews". According to him, the serial production of lasers per year will be "at least five", and will start "after 2026".
The development tests will take place in 2025 at the Zelenograd Nanotechnology Center (ZNTC). The laser will be installed on a lithograph designed to produce chips with a 350 nm topology. Thanks to it, the lithograph will become more accurate and will be able to produce chips with a 130 nm topology.
According to Shpak, there are currently only two countries in the world that have independently developed and produce lasers for lithographs. These are the USA with the American company Cymer, and Japan with its manufacturer GigaPhoton. That is, Russia will bypass even China with its laser, and will enter the top 3 manufacturers of such high-precision equipment.
Russian lithographs with the "Lassard" laser development, as noted in the interview, have already found a number of interested parties, including "Micron", the largest microelectronics manufacturer.
It is worth noting that "Micron" recently expanded its production facilities in Moscow. At the new lines, the company will produce up to 18 million packaged microcircuits and up to 56 million chip modules per year, including chips for foreign passports , bank cards and IoT devices, as well as for the Moscow Metro and other needs.
