Russian ships crossed the Bering Strait

The large landing ship "Alexander Otrakovsky", the large anti-submarine ship "Vice-Admiral Kulakov", as well as the tanker "Sergey Osipov" of the Northern Fleet crossed the Bering Strait and entered the Chukchi Sea, the fleet's press service reported.

The sailors of the Northern Fleet made the crossing in difficult conditions, including near drifting ice floes.

BDK Project 775 (according to NATO codification - Ropucha, "toad") is a series of second-rank ships of the near and far sea zone, built in Poland for the USSR Navy. The ships are designed for landing troops, transferring troops and armored vehicles. BDK Project 775 is equipped with two A-215 "Grad-M" MLRS with a caliber of 122 mm.
