The prospects for expanding the work of AI in Russian transport were discussed at the recent Moscow International Digital Technology Forum in the field of transport and logistics "Digital Transportation-2024".
One of the challenges facing the transport industry is the shortage of personnel. The current tools that were available to us earlier do not allow us to minimize this risk. In this situation, new technologies, artificial intelligence, large language models will help us to deal with this problem.
Also at the forum session "New AI Rules of the Road: Artificial Intelligence in the Transport Industry and Logistics" discussed Russian examples of working with AI in logistics, rail, freight and urban transportation, the prospects for "smart" roads in Russia and experimental legal regimes.
The speakers at the session were profile managers of such Russian companies as PJSC "Sberbank", CRT Group, JSC "Russian Railways", "Sber Business Soft", as well as representatives of FSUE "ZashchitaInfoTrans" and the Main Directorate for Transport of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Russia. A representative of the Skoltech Applied AI Center was an expert at the session.
Currently, Russian transport and logistics are among the leaders in the economy in the application of artificial intelligence technologies. At the same time, at the end of 2023, about a third of transport companies used domestic AI developments.
