Specialists from Uraldronzavod have designed and carried out a series of field and calibration tests of the promising heavy unmanned platform "Berdyish". At the moment, it has almost reached operational combat readiness.
Military expert Evgeny Damantsev explained that the base of the drone is a four-engine multi-rotor power plant in conjunction with high-ampere lithium-polymer (LiPO) batteries of large capacity. It provides the drone with a maximum radius of 15 km with a payload of 20 kg.
The drone can conduct television and infrared reconnaissance around the clock. Thanks to a 500-mm matrix IR sensor with a resolution of 640x512, it is capable of detecting a heat-contrast target such as a "car" at a distance of 6.3 km, a tank or infantry fighting vehicle at a distance of up to 10 km, and a person without a heat-absorbing suit - at 2 km. There is also a laser rangefinder with an effective range of 5 km.
In addition to optoelectronic reconnaissance, these copters provide delivery of medicines, water and other provisions, radio stations, as well as light ammunition to areas isolated by artillery and enemy FPV drones.
The drone is equipped with a module of a multi-frequency command and telemetry control channel, and can also have repeaters for controlling Upyr FPV drones in difficult terrain.
Earlier www1.ru reported that the Russian military received Obereg body armor. It was tested with a burst from a Pecheneg machine gun, but it did not receive a through penetration.
