The air defense forces of the Russian Armed Forces are armed with the Strela-10M3 short-range anti-aircraft missile system. It mainly works on small-sized enemy UAVs.
Military expert Evgeny Damantsev drew attention to the fact that, in addition to additional improvised anti-cumulative screens based on conveyor belts, the Strela-10M3 is also equipped with a thermal imaging sighting module for working on enemy drones with heat-contrast engines at night.
However, the most important technical advantage of the 9M333 anti-aircraft missiles included in the Strela-10M3 SAM system's ammunition is the equipment with three-band optoelectronic homing heads.
They operate in the infrared, jamming, and photo-contrast ranges, where the first provides capture of small objects with a minimal IR signature during the daytime.
Earlier it became known that the Russian Armed Forces received new sniper rifles from the Lobaev Arms brand.
