The Buran hexacopter unmanned aerial vehicle has been developed in Russia. It is capable of carrying cargo up to 80 kg at a speed of 70 km/h.
The developers note that it can be used for evacuating the wounded and for delivery. The drone conducts reconnaissance and, if necessary, can be adapted to drop ammunition on the enemy.
Among the military, the novelty has already received the nickname "Russian Baba Yaga" by analogy with another hexacopter that appeared on the front line.
The developing company "Kotlin-Novator" noted that several samples were made, which successfully passed the tests. The tests confirmed that with a load of 80 kg, the drone can stay in the air for about 20 minutes, and without load - up to 45 minutes. At the same time, its range is up to 20 km, and the flight altitude is 3 km.
The drone is controlled by an operator through a secure three-band communication channel that is resistant to electronic warfare systems.
