During training exercises at one of the Russian training grounds, Belarusian military personnel for the first time launched from the Polonez-M multiple launch rocket systems (MLRS) to a range of 300 kilometers and successfully hit the target.
The previous version of the system was capable of hitting targets at a maximum distance of 200 kilometers. The technical solutions used in the updated system allow increasing the range of destruction. The fire capabilities of the complex have also significantly increased, including its ability to hit objects over a larger area.
Military expert Evgeny Damantsev noted that the improved two-stage 301-mm guided missile A200 has a "lifting body" configuration with tail aerodynamic rudders.
They provide anti-aircraft maneuvers with overloads of up to 30 units at speeds in 90-degree dive mode of about 4 - 2.3 Mach, depending on the distance to the target object.
"Polonez-M" can simultaneously hit up to eight targets at a range of up to 300 km. The complex is already called a competitor to the American HIMARS system, as the MLRS uses satellite navigation to deliver high-precision strikes.
