Russian businesses are massively using Turkish banks to transit payments to Europe and other countries. However, this is not the first time that problems have arisen with money transfers, credit institutions refuse payments to Russian importers. Problems have recently arisen again.

Pressure is being exerted on businesses both by Turkish banks and by their European counterparts. Experts note that this is how credit institutions react to changing realities, adapting their compliance (financial control) to them.

Problems with the transfer of payments through Turkey last arose at the beginning of this year. The reason was the fear of Turkish bankers of falling under secondary US sanctions due to cooperation with banks of third countries. However, after a while, payments began to resume.
