Забытая разработка России, которая помогла бы очистить небо от дронов: боевой лазер ПАПВ

The laser burns out the enemy's optics and deprives them of objective control

Swarms of enemy drones, like annoying biting mosquitoes, hang over the positions of our troops on the front line. However, clearing the sky of them is quite possible, according to @rgsila.

We are talking about the PAPV combat laser system, which is a portable automated aiming device. Despite its harmless name, PAPV is a terminator-destroyer of enemy optical systems of any kind.

The laser beam, emitted in the invisible frequency range, automatically scans a potentially dangerous sector. As soon as an enemy optical device enters the scanning device's zone of operation, it is struck by a combat laser, the powerful beam of which burns out the optics. PAPV laser installations can scan the airspace day and night, instantly detect any drone in the sky, and neutralize it.

PAPV was created in the late 1980s, successfully passed tests, and was adopted into service in the early 1990s, but never reached the troops for unknown reasons.

Meanwhile, the technical documentation for this device has probably been preserved. Its production can be recreated at a new technological level. And, finally, clear the sky of drones of all kinds, especially FPV.

Earlier, footage appeared online of a devastating Iskander-M strike on a Western M270 MLRS. The circular error probable of the 9M723-1 missile did not exceed 17 meters.
