Несбиваемый «Циркон» и БРК «Бастион»: чем России ответить на развертывание США систем Typhon, LHRW и HIMARS в Японии

Military expert Boltenkov named Russia's likely response to the deployment of US multi-domain task forces

US Army Minister Christine Wormuth, during her visit to Japan, announced the upcoming deployment of an American multi-domain task force unit to this country, which includes batteries of the Himars missile system, a battery of the Typhon missile system, and the promising LHRW (long range hypersonic weapon) hypersonic weapon under development. Military expert Dmitry Boltenkov discussed what Russia's response to such actions might be.

He recalled that HIMARS is an already well-known multiple launch rocket system. It can use GMLRS guided missiles, one ATACMS operational-tactical missile, or six unguided projectiles.

LHRW, or Dark Eagle, is an American ground-to-ground hypersonic missile with a long range, designed to engage strategically important targets in a short time. According to data from open sources, the Dark Eagle complex will be able to hit targets at a distance of more than 2,775 km at speeds of up to 6 times the speed of sound.

Another dangerous weapon is the missile system of the MRC Typhon ground complex of shorter and medium range. Currently, the Typhon can use the Tomahawk cruise missile against targets at a distance of up to 1,800 km. It can also use the Standard SM-6 missile against surface or ground targets at a distance of up to 460 km.

There is no doubt that domestic military thought will find measures to combat multi-domain task forces. In particular, this is the further development of domestic hypersonic missiles such as the Zircon and their introduction into the coastal missile forces of the fleet, a constant change of locations for combat duty by missile units and air defense units. In addition, Bastion coastal missile systems have been deployed on the Kuril Islands, the radius of which allows striking the territory of Japan.
