Russian ground forces are using trucks manufactured by the Minsk Automobile Plant — MAZ-5316. They are equipped with "barbecue grills" to protect against enemy drones, writes Bulgarian Military.
The Russian military has switched from Ural and KamAZ trucks to MAZ. They also use the MZKT-7930 platform of the Minsk Wheel Tractor Plant. Several weapons systems have been created on it, including the Iskander OTRK.
An important factor in the interaction between Russia and Belarus is cooperation within the framework of the agreement on the Union State, which allows for the uninterrupted exchange of military technologies and weapons.
Belarusian trucks could become a reserve in case of possible disruptions in the production of Russian trucks due to sanctions or supply chain problems.
