The Pacific State Medical University (TSMU), in collaboration with the Innopolis University, has developed a medical drone for delivering tests and medical supplies. This project was presented by the university's rector, Valentin Shumatov, at the session "The Future of Higher Education: Moving Towards Development" during the Eastern Economic Forum in Vladivostok.
The drone has started operating in Sakhalin, where it will deliver tests from remote villages to Yuzhno-Sakhalinsk. It is also planned that the drone will transport medicines and medical instruments to small medical facilities. This innovation aims to improve medical care in remote areas and may be extended to the entire Far East.
The project is the result of cooperation between universities, as well as large enterprises and the Russian Academy of Sciences.
