В Москве разработали материал для сверхпроводников

Single crystals will allow electricity to be conducted without loss at low temperatures

Single crystals of superconductors have been grown at Lomonosov Moscow State University (MSU). Specialists have studied their crystalline and electronic structures, the university's press service reported.

Specialists have created large single crystals of ternary bismuthides. A Bruker D8 QUEST X-ray diffractometer was used to study them.

The results indicate a noticeable similarity between the crystalline and electronic structures of the obtained compounds and 122 superconductors. This suggests that they may have superconductivity.

Scientists will continue to study the properties of the new materials at low temperatures. They are planned to be used in technologies such as quantum computers and medical scanners.

Earlier, www1.ru reported that Rosatom manufactured a batch of isotopes for electronics.
