At the first Egypt International Airshow 2024, Roscosmos State Corporation showcased the new Kanopus-V-O Earth remote sensing satellite to Egyptians and other exhibition guests. This development by the subsidiary VNIIEM is being demonstrated for the first time.
According to the state corporation, the satellite is designed for overview imaging of the Earth's surface in the visible, mid- and far-infrared ranges of the electromagnetic spectrum. "Kanopus-V-O" expands the capabilities for monitoring natural and man-made phenomena, which is crucial for solving problems in the field of ecology, civil defense and scientific research.
Also in the joint exposition of the state corporation and enterprises of the rocket and space industry are presented models of other VNIIEM spacecraft: the Russian-Belarusian space vehicle (RBKA) and the Meteor-M No. 2-4 meteorological satellite. In the exposition, you can also see developments by Reshetnev, and such new Roscosmos developments as Luna-26 and Berkut-VR.
