The "Atom" electric car from "Kama" has an unusual body structure. It has no central pillar, and the doors are swing doors. It is they who provide the necessary rigidity when closed. The doors are co-dependent; without opening the front door, the rear door cannot be opened. The manufacturer spoke about four scenarios for the operation of the unusual design.
We have created a unique swing door design. The main technical feature of this design was the elimination of the central body pillar, which significantly increased the interior space of the cabin. In addition, the "one-touch entry" function was initially incorporated into the project, which further increased comfort and convenience for passengers.
The doors have an electric drive and closer. In addition, they react to obstacles, and if something prevents opening or an obstacle arises suddenly, the opening or closing of the doors will be automatically stopped.
The manufacturer has provided four door operation scenarios. To activate the automatic mode, you need to press a special button. You can manually open the doors using the retractable handle. There is a hybrid mode: it combines automatic and manual opening. Finally, the last method is through a mobile application.
Note that the manufacturer has taken care of force majeure circumstances. If the car is de-energized, for example, due to a discharged battery, and it is necessary to get into the car, the doors can be opened mechanically.
