The State Duma has proposed new rules for foreign citizens working in taxis. This was announced by parliamentarian Yaroslav Nilov.
Amendments to the law "On Road Safety" have been proposed. They oblige foreigners to pass theory and practice to confirm their driving experience and further work in taxis in Russia.
Given the increasing accident rate and the number of accidents involving foreigners, it would be logical and correct to take into account the interests of our citizens and introduce a practical test for those visiting workers who are engaged in passenger and cargo transportation.
It is worth noting that at the moment, migrants only pass the theoretical part of the exam to work in a taxi.
The new bill was submitted to the State Duma on August 29 this year. If adopted, foreign citizens will be required to pass the exams before June 1, 2025.
Earlier www1.ru reported that foreigners will be able to buy a SIM card in Russia only with biometrics.
