Russian KUB kamikaze drones have significantly increased their combat power, Rostec announced. These guided loitering munitions are designed to suppress enemy manpower, lightly armored vehicles, and infrastructure.
The unmanned aerial vehicle delivers the warhead to the target coordinates, which are set using video from a reconnaissance drone's camera. KUB can be launched covertly from a catapult, has high accuracy, is virtually silent, highly effective, and easy to control.
This munition is a high-precision long-range sledgehammer. The powerful impact not only causes equipment to burn, but also detonates ammunition, increasing the destructive effect of the strike. The presence of such drones in the troops allows soldiers to effectively suppress enemy artillery and armored vehicles, as well as destroy weapons depots.
The range of the KUB is 15 kilometers. The device can stay in the air for up to 30 minutes. The 15-kilogram weapon carries a 3 kg payload.
Earlier, www1.ru reported that naval artillery AK-100 and AK-630 were involved in repelling drone attacks. Surface targets were also destroyed by fire from large-caliber machine guns and small arms.
