Rostec Showcases Production of Space Components Using Laser Melting

SLM technology simplifies the production of space components

Rostec State Corporation demonstrated the process of manufacturing parts for the space industry using selective laser melting (SLM) technology at its Additive Technology Center (ATC), which is part of the United Engine Corporation (UEC).

During the production of metal parts, a laser melts a special powder that covers the working surface layer by layer. The process takes place in an inert gas environment, which ensures high quality and durability of the products.

The use of SLM technology allows the company to print complex-shaped parts without the need for tooling, which greatly simplifies and speeds up the production of components for the space industry.
